Extract of Shiitake Mushroom Fermented Rice Bran

LEF" is a fermented food extracted from pretreated rice bran with a culture of shiitake mushrooms, and was developed in 2003 at our newly established plant.
The main component of rice bran is insoluble dietary fiber (polysaccharide) called cellulose and hemicellulose, which cannot be decomposed by human digestive enzymes and is almost completely eliminated from the body. However, by using the powerful enzymes produced by the shiitake mushroom fungus to rice bran, it is possible to obtain polysaccharides with new and improved functionality. This substance has a wide variety of possibilities for the future.

The power of LEF and its evidence

LEF is characterized by the presence of polysaccharides such as hemicellulose, 𝛽-glucan, and α-glucan as its main components, as well as proteins and minerals. It has a number of actions.

 Safety of LEF

LEF is made from shiitake mushrooms and rice bran, which have been used as food for centuries.
Therefore, there are no safety issues. The safety of LEM has been confirmed through various safety tests, including toxicity and mutagenicity tests, conducted by analytical laboratories.

  Examples of LEF Effectiveness Tests

▒ Anti-anxiety effects
Mice instinctively fear shiny objects, and this fear is considered a model for obsessive-compulsive disorder in humans.
To ascertain whether oral ingestion of LEF alleviates obsessive-compulsive disorder-like anxiety. The mice were divided into the following three groups, which were equally divided after preliminary rearing, and reared on each food for 10 days.
Results showed that LEF and LLM significantly (p<0.05) increased the number of glass balls not hidden and reduced anxiety.

▒ Antitumor Effect
We tested whether LEF has anti-tumor effects (prolongation of life).
Cows (C57BL10) were divided into two groups: a control group and a LEF group (10 animals per group). After one week, a tumor (S1048B10) was implanted and mice were observed until they died of cancer. This confirmed that LEF has a life-prolonging effect.
